New Outfits: SNEAK PEEK!

Today, both Plush and iCaramba made a stop at the UnitZ "Yada Yada Yada" for a laid-back chat with some woozens and started discussing a few items that are going to be released on Monday. Some "Bundle up in Style" items are already in ShopZ but not all of the items are, especially the yellow sweater featured in the thumbnail photo that had a lot of people upset. However, both Plush and Cara walked into the Unitz sporting unrealeased tops, including Cara with the infamous yellow sweater.

According to Cara, there will be 2 tops for boys & girls, 2 hairs, and then 1 pants for each. No word on shoes, but I'm hoping they do add some because both girls outfits released currently shared a pair of the same shoes. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new hairs since we haven't had any sneak peek at those. So, we'll see how they come out!

Woozworld Games 101: Find The Killer/Mafia

Woozworld's "Find the Killer" has very quickly made it to the top of the list of my favorite games to play. While at first glance it can seem confusing and complicated, just one round and you'll easily gain the understanding it takes to win.
The first thing you need to know when going into a Find the Killer game is that people are given roles for the game and that these roles each hold certain powers that can be used. The host of the game will message out to give people their role at the beginning of the game. People without roles are declared "innocents", "peasants", or "civilians": these have no special powers. The number of roles and which roles are included all depend on the host's preferences. The list of the standard roles and their powers are as follows:

  • Killer/Mafia/Murderer: Every game you play will have killers. The job of the killers is to PC the name of a player in-game they want to eliminate to the host (when the host asks!!). The killers should be aiming for the good guys, especially those with roles and those who can kill them.
  • Nurse/Doctor/Medic: The nurse(s) will have the opportunity to save a player who has been killed by the murderers. The nurse may not always save a player if they're worried that this player could secretly be a mafia member who was accidentally killed by another mafia, or if this player has a role that could also threaten the nurse.
  • Cop/Sherrif: The cop(s) will "suspect" people as being the murderer(s). It will then be put up to a vote as the players decide whether or not they think the player is the killer.
  • Commander: I will preface this by saying that typically the only people who like this role are the ones who are it. Each round, the commander will get to "say a command" that can cause a lot of people to die. For example; "everyone wearing jeans dies", "everyone with long hair dies", "everyone who has a role must wear red", "everyone not wearing shoes dies", etc. This role is basically a god and the only thing that can stop them is if they are killed before they get a chance to wipe out half the players.
  • Ghost: When the ghost dies, they get to decide on another player to take to the grave with them.
  • Slender: Slender gets a guaranteed kill on anyone they want.
  • Witch: The witch gets to resurrect a player from the dead, typically after finding out their role! The player they bring back is protected for the next two rounds.
  • Cupid: This role gets to pair together two players. If one of these players dies, so does the other. They come as a package deal.
dontclickonme's UnitZ
Knowing and understanding the roles is the key to understanding the game. If you're still not sure about, try playing a few games; the more you play, the more it'll make sense.

Here are some basic tips which should help you during a game:
#1 ) You're basically trying to convince everyone you're a civilian; you don't want the good guys to suspect you as being a murderer but you also don't want the murderers to know whether or not you have a role.
#2 ) Try not to be too trusting. Everyone wants the prize and friends will definitely lie to get it! But, don't get too frustrated. It's only a game within a game (game-ception) and if you're upset with the turnout just try again.
# 3 ) If you have a role, answering the host's PC as quickly as possible. People do not enjoy waiting around for the nurse to decide who they want to save. Be considerate.

REMINDER: Not every round of Find the Killer will have the same roles or same set of rules. Be sure to listen to the host when they call out which roles will be involved in the game you're playing so you know what's going on.

Thank you for reading! I hope this post will help you enjoy Find the Killer.

HollyWooz SquareZ: RECAP!

Hello everyone! Today iCaramba hosted a few rounds of the game, "HollyWooz SquareZ." This week, all of the questions were Disney themed. I decided to attend as it's been a while since I've been to an Animator event and I really wanted to see what was different from the ones I knew before.

When I first got there, it was around 20 minutes before the start time and I was 7th in the queue. In previous events like the old SoTW events as well as Max's Game Show, this queue position would be rock solid and I would likely not get into the event until a minute before the end time. However, I was pleasantly surprised that as the event went on, I was able to actually get in and eventually play the game. This is mostly due to the fact that people who got their questions wrong were subsequently kicked from the unit to make room for more people and more games.

Initially, when I saw the unit set-up I was so confused and had no idea what was going on. People were saying it would be a team game but all I saw was a bunch of teleport tiles everywhere with Xs and Os. But, pretty quickly, it all started to make sense! The rules are basically:

  • It's tic tac toe, you need 3 in a row of either X or O to win. You're playing on a team.
  • You choose the space you want to play for, meaning if you get the question right, you get to put your team's letter on that space.
  • A player from the opposite team will also choose a space. The players will typically go for the spaces that get them closer to three in a row.
  • The host, in this case, iCaramba, will ask both of the players a question and start the timer for 20 seconds.
  • The first player to answer the question correctly gets to put their letter on the space. If neither of the players gets the question correct, or if time runs out, neither player wins and both are kicked.

So here's the rundown of today's games & questions:

1 ) What is the dinosaur's name in Toy Story?
A ) Rex. (Team X got this question correctly!)
2 ) What kind of animal works at the DMV in Zootopia?
A ) Sloths! (This one was Team O.)
3 ) Which Disney movie features the song "Zero to Hero?"
     A ) Hercules. (Team O, again!)
4 ) What is the name of the great white shark in "Finding Nemo?"
     A ) Bruce! (Team O got it!)

At this point, Team O had gotten three answers correctly and was able to win the game!

Here are the rest of the questions from the second game:

1. Finish the lyrics: "Oh, I just can't wait to be __" King! --- No winners.
2. What's the name of the Young Princess in "A Bug's Life"? Dot. --- No winners.
3. What kind of pet does Princess Jasmine have? A tiger! --- Team X.
4. Finish the lyrics: "Can you sing with all the voices of the __?" Mountains. --- No winners.
5. What is Mr.Disney's first name? Walt! --- Team O.
6. What is the name of the white robot that Wall-E meets? Eve! --- Team O, this was my question!
7. What kind of flower is in the glass case in Beauty and the Beast? Rose! --- Team X.
8. What item does Dumbo need to hold to help him fly? Feather. --- No winners.
9. Where do the children fly away to in Peter Pan? Neverland. --- No winners.
10. What kind of animal is Sebastian in the Little Mermaid? Crab! --- Team X.

By now, Team X had three correct answers and was able to win the game!
Unfortunately, my team, Team O, lost and I'm not too sure what the prize for winning was but I did have a lot of fun playing and rooting for my team! I highly recommend going to this event the next time they host it and if you get the chance.

Also, the event was originally scheduled from 4:00-4:45, but the two animators (iCaramba who was later joined by Plush) kindly extended it until 5:00 to allow another game, and also later stayed an extra 15 minutes until 5:15 to stay and chat with the woozens. So, overall, this experience at an event was way more positive than the times I remember in old woozworld. I really enjoyed myself and I hope the next time we play there is another fun theme!

woozworld vip prices then vs woozworld vip prices now

hello tricksters!

i've played woozworld for a while now, and i've noticed how the prices for vip on woozworld have fluctuated a bit throughout time. lets look at how much vip has costed at different times and analyze it, shall we?

this is how much vip costs now, in december of 2019!
3.99 usd for 1 month vip membership
7.99 usd for 3 months vip membership
12.99 usd for 6 months vip membership
19.99 usd for 12 months vip membership
6.99 usd for boost to preztige level 50 + 3 months vip

id say these are pretty decent prices comparing them to other games with special memberships! woozworld has you paying 19.99 usd for a whole year of membership, on some games, for example roblox, have you paying 19.99 for just one month! so woozworlds prices are pretty good. as i mentioned before, prices have changed throughout the years, so lets look at some older prices for vip!

this image shows how much vip costed in july 2012!
5.95 usd for 1 month vip membership
15.95 usd for 3 months vip membership
19.95 usd for 6 months vip membership
29.95 usd for 12 months vip membership

these prices are noticeably higher than the ones today, a year of membership costs 10 usd more than the price today, and 1 month of memberships costs 1.96 usd more than the price today. these prices are higher but they also came with a lot of stuff, 1 month came with: 1000 beex, 1000 wooz (note wooz was used by woozens like beex is today with shop podz so it wasnt necessarily as valuable compared to today), 1 unitz and 1 petz yeti. so vip costed a bit more than it does today, but buying vip came with more benefits. i think its generally up to preference on what price was better, as some people may like the extra stuff thinking its worth the money but some may prefer the prices today being cheaper and not really care about the extra stuff. i think i'd prefer this is if it came with the wooz today as wooz is more valuable now, but if i had to choose back then based on price id go with todays prices.

this image shows how much vip costed in april 2015
7.95 usd for 1 month vip membership
19.95 usd for 3 months vip membership
34.95 usd for 6 months vip membership
54.95 usd for 12 months vip membership

whew these prices are high. vip for a year costed 34.96 USD MORE than the price today! 1 month vip membership costed 3.96 usd more than the price today. the prices today are definitely better even if these came with an exclusive outfit, its just not worth it in my opinion. i assume people couldnt but vip as much due to the higher prices, and thats probably why they lowered the prices. it seems more people actively played woozworld in 2015 as well so its likely after the amount of players who buyed vip dropped they lowered the price so more people would buy.

i personally believe the prices we have today for vip are the best comparing them to the prices at other time periods, very affordable! the prices make it so many woozens can buy vip, the reason in the drop in prices is probably because less people bought vip during the time it was higher in price and woozworld seems to have dropped in active players, and the cheaper price makes it so enough active players today will buy vip, getting woozworld enough profit to you know   Woozworld. the prices today are very cheap and affordable which is great for users but you have to wonder if this was a smart choice or a broke choice. well in the end, prices today are lower now and allow for more woozens to enjoy vip!

i hope you had a terrific time reading this post!

Woozmas Advent Calendar

Happy December, Woozens!

Just popping in for a quick, little news update for the new Woozmas season.
Woozworld has released a new Advent Calendar for the first 7 days of December. The icon for the advent calendar is located on the right side of your screen above the Black Friday tab and shows three colorful stockings.

For those who aren't sure how an advent calendar works, it is basically rewarding you for coming online and participating. Each day, you open the tab and click the stocking for that day and you will receive a prize. The prize for today, December 1st, was this item: "Woozmas Cactus." The pot, star, and cactus are all colorable. The item is currently nontransferable and it's unknown whether or not this will be changed after the advent calendar is completed. Be sure to logon to Woozworld each of the days to receive the BONUS prize!

That's all for this quick update!

Woozworld Games 101: Hot Potato

Hello Woozens!

In order to kick off the start of this new Woozworld blog, I'm going to be beginning a little mini-series of a few posts that will all have to do with games played on Woozworld. Throughout this series, I'm going to be choosing a new game to explain in a quick post on Woozworld Trick. Some of the games I'm going to write about include; Hot Potato, Killer Colors, Boot the Ugly, Find the Killer, etc.

Today's post and the first part of the series is going to be about the very popular: Hot Potato!

Hot Potato, although somewhat resembling its real-life counterpart, might not be what you'd expect. However, I'll leave out the rules to that hot potato and focus on the one in Woozworld.

Hot Potato is set up to have one of the eight colored wheels, along with 2 tiles of each of the colors of the wheel (2 tiles of red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, purple, and pink). Every player participating must stand on their own tile of one of the colors.

The game begins with the host spinning the wheel for it to land on a color. Then, if there's only 1 player on the tile of that color, that player will go. If there are two players both on a tile of the same color, the host will call out which of the two will go (typically left/right or top/bottom). If you're called up to play, you will go to the center and must begin clicking the die in the middle to roll it. You must roll until you land on and stay on a 6. There is a timer running as you roll. If you roll a 6 but accidentally roll-off, the timer will continue. If you do not roll a 6 by the time the timer is up, you are out.

If you do land a six, the host will stop the timer and it will be paused where it is. At this point, you will typically be asked, "s or p?" This is asking if you want to s, spin the wheel to determine who goes next, or p, you choose who goes next. The person who goes after you has the same task, to a roll a six, but they will start from whatever time you left off. The timer will usually start at around 30 seconds, and at some point, players may have to roll a six with only 1 second left on the clock.

Players will continue to be eliminated until there are only two left. At this point, the timer will typically increase in the amount of time and the two players left will continuously take turns rolling for a 6 with no pauses in time. The last player left standing will win the game and take home the prize.

DISCLAIMER: I use the words "typically" and "usually" as rules to all games vary, many hosts like to put their own spin or twists on these games and may not play exactly by the rules I've written out here.

I hope that you all enjoyed this tutorial on Hot Potato! I'll be sure to make the next post in a timely manner. Next time I will most likely be discussing "Find the Killer", as I find this game to be the most fun and complex of the games I plan to cover.
